Global Marine has been installing subsea cable across the globe for over 174 years, installing in excess of 300,000km, enough to circumnavigate the globe seven and a half times.

Global Marine brings this expertise, knowledge and track record to its customers’ projects, ensuring that together we can keep the world connected.

Our track record of project successes includes cable installed deep within the Arctic Circle for the Uninett project in Svalbard Norway, delivering the world’s most northerly fibre optic cable system, as well as to depths of 8,500m in the Marianas Trench.

Global Marine has developed a core base of knowledge, skills, technology, equipment and assets which provide the capabilities to efficiently and successfully plan, install, bury, store, test, find, recover and maintain subsea fibre optic cables.

We provide our customers with an experienced team of engineers to plan and design solutions, effectively manage entire projects together with clients, and execute scopes of work supported by our highly capable assets which have an extensive track record in offshore installation.

• Dedicated, multipurpose subsea installation vessels: C.S. Sovereign, CS Recorder, and the Normand Clipper
• Plough and ROV burial solutions for various types of cables providing protection from fishing and other third party risks: Atlas Series, Hi Plough, and trenching systems  
• Project support at all stages, from planning to final survey and as-built report 
• Engineering, Project Management, Ploughing and Trenching delivery 
• Marine surveys, Permitting, Offshore liaison and Charting/system documentation management services. These are delivered through our sister company OceanIQ.
• GeoCable® off-the-shelf cable database, gives access to over 2.5 million kilometres of as laid submarine telecoms cable data.

Project Management

With a track record in deep and shallow water Global Marine is a marine engineering partner capable of providing a complete end-to-end solution that supports the whole life of a subsea project from planning, installation, protection and repair.

Project Engineering

Our team of well qualified, highly experienced engineers have the knowledge and capability to deliver complex end-to-end engineering support, on time and to specification every time. Our project engineers can either be integrated within our customer’s own engineering department at their premises or managed “in-house” from a Global Marine Group location.

Cable Route Planning

Global Marine Group’s expert and knowledgeable team deliver a comprehensive Cable Route Planning portfolio of services for the telecoms industry through our sister company, OceanIQ. Our services cover: Desk Top Study, Route Survey, Route Engineering, Cable Fault Analysis, Cable Protection Assessment and our very own GeoCable® cable database, an industry-leading Geographical Information System (GIS) developed specifically to meet the needs of the subsea cable industry.

Permitting

Our sister company, OceanIQ, provides permitting services. We evaluate, advise on, navigate and complete the complex and varying multi-national permit requirements for projects worldwide ensuring that your project is properly licensed and authorised.
